Description

Rik Versonnen was born in Leuven, he was a painter, sculptor and jewelry designer. He settled in Brussels in the early 1960s, where he also had a small studio at the Toone Puppet Theater. There he found inspiration in the inhabitants of small districts of Brussels. At a later age he went to Ostend. He also spent a lot of time in Spain. He mainly painted landscapes, floral still life, romantically conceived female figures. His works are often colorful and poetic and he uses original lighting effects. In the mid-1970s, he designed posters for festivals in Ypero, Nieuwpoortu a Ostende. He died in 1997 in Spain.
