Description
The Edwards Company & Roberts was founded in 1845 and renowned as one of the finest joiners in England as well as top restorers of antique furniture, which they also "modernized" for contemporary use, but they left a spirit and quality artistry – the craftsmanship of the creators of the original piece. This piece of furniture is typical of workshop creation, which preferred older motifs. This extremely high-quality sideboard is made of solid oak in a Gothic style, hand carved in fine detail. The lower part consists of a profiled chest of drawers with four solid doors and three drawers – the middle drawer is signed – viz Photo. The upper body part is made up of a richly carved rear part with a mirror, which has faceted edges and a pair of raised shelves on turned legs with lion head finials. State: excellent, without červotoče, locks are functional – new keys for unification are finished.
