A representative octagonal chandelier in the style of Mazarin, French origin, from the second half of the period 19. century.

Description

A representative octagonal chandelier in the style of Mazarin, French origin, from the second half of the period 19. century (around 1880). The construction is all of the best bronze with a rich cisel decorome, covered with a finely gilded Technique Doré surface. The shoulders branch into the shape of volutes in a square cross -section, richly decorated with acanthole leaves, floral motifs and plastic female heads, often indicating mythological or grotesque figures - typically popular with Louisxiv style, As documented in similar specimens inspired by André -Charles Boulle's work.

The central fuselage resembles a decorated vase form with a pointed end element in the shape of a stylized cone (Seed lamp ass), finely modeled, typical of the French chandeliers of this category. The chandelier is completely electrrated - the E27 socket version allows the use of conventional bulbs, thus easy to adapt to modern use. Rare preservation of small details, such as the original chain links with a profiled rosette, testifies to an excellent preservation.
