Top quality from the masters of the Georgian era, which was designed for the elite of the time. This secretary of the late Sheraton George III is a truly luxurious piece, which elevates the interior. Upper superstructure decorated with inlay and turned skittles. Glass divided fillings are original. The division between the glasses is inlaid. Shelves are adjustable. The central part with the tilting plate is retractable and creates a writing surface, which is covered with leather decorated with blind printing, the handles of the inner drawers are made of ivory. Below the central part are three more large drawers. There are original locks on the secretary, the keys are finished (to be unified). There are three secret compartments inside the secretary. In the 1980s, the secretary was restored and supplemented with interior lighting. Solid wood body treated with mahogany veneer, marquetry of various woods, brass market and ivory. Condition is very good – ready to use. dating: around 1800. Provenience: England.
