Author Jan Charles Vondrouš was born in the year 1884 in Chotusice near Čáslav and died in the year 1970 in Prague. He was an important Czech graphic designer and painter, A member of the Association of Czech Artists of Graphics Hollar. He studied at the National Design Academy in New York, where he devoted himself to painting, drawing and graphic techniques. After returning to the homeland, he focused primarily on etching and colored graphics. His native region plays an important role in his work - he often depicted Čáslav, Kutná Hora and other Czech historic cities. In 1948, When did this work come from, Hollar Association devoted a retrospective exhibition, that confirmed his place among the leading Czech graphics 20. century.
