Description

Original Edison's phonograph type GEM, made in the United States of America at the beginning 20. century. This iconic device was used to play phonneys and belong to the early examples of mechanical sound reproduction. The painted metal body is complemented by the original wooden cover box with the Edison logo. Patent information and serial number of the device are listed on the brass label.
The phonograph is driven by a hand handle and excels in craftsmanship typical for Edison Machine Works products. Preserved state with traces of use corresponds to age, while the machine and cover retained high aesthetic value.
